Network freeze with USB camera

I have a logitech C920 connected to a RP3. Installed latest Raspbian image with all updates and when I follow the many tutorials online to get motion to run. As soon as I attach the camera I lose wifi. If I unplug it then I'm able to ssh to my pi again. Is there a known issue or perhaps good instructions for configuring this combo? Logitech C920 and pi3?
