Intermittent HDMI blanking during playback - how to fix?

Wed Sep 26, 2012 11:44 am

I'm at a bit of a loss what else to try in order to prevent the intermittent HDMI blanking (handshake issue?) when playing back movie content (happens with both OpenELEC and Raspbian/omxplayer). The blank only happens during playback and never in the menu which is also displayed at 1920x1080p@60. Seem to be worst with HD material, and can happen as often as once every 5 or 10 minutes.

I'm currently using config_hdmi_boost=7, but have previously forced various hdmi_group/hdmi_mode values to no avail. Can't imagine it's a power issue, as I'm using a 2A supply.

edidparser output if it's useful:

I tried monitoring the HDMI with "tvservice -M" in OpenELEC, but the only output appeared when beginning playback of a movie - when the HDMI actually blanked during playback there was no output from tvservice:

Code: Select all

root ~ # tvservice -M
Starting to monitor for HDMI events
[I] HDMI in standby mode
Any and all suggestions welcomed! :)
