Pi 3 Slow

Tue May 23, 2017 1:05 am

I was not expecting blazing speeds when I got this. Honestly the main reason I got it was to act as a link between my DTX 562K Drums and Playstation 4. It actually worked out great for that but during setting it up I actually gained interest in the unit itself.

I have the latest updates and firmware however the system stalls frequently when not really doing much. For example I can open the application menu and then mouse over (up and down) on the list and it will just freeze. The freeze will last about 15 seconds. Same thing in the built in browser when scrolling. Although a page has loaded completely I can scroll and it will freeze for about 15 seconds then come back.

This may be normal so just trying to figure out if its something I should expect or should I be looking for a solution ?

You appear to expect crystall ball answers, maybe fuller specs would help.

As stated in title its a Pi 3. Are there different hardware specs available for Pi 3 ?
Latest firmware and updates using he command update feature.. cant recalled exact command but used guide from this site to do it.

Raspbian is the OS and the only thing I have installed. I have made no changes so its all running default.
32gb SD formatted as instructed prior to installing OS.

Brand and speed of the SD card?
You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

OK a RPi 3B with a fully updated Raspbian Jessie with Pixel OS.

It is the same as I run as my everyday Desktop PC and the only "momentery pause" I suffer if I open several tabs in Chromium Browser.

I have had issues with cheapo SD Cards though and a good quality Class 10 SD Card is a must, see:
