Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated RPiOS Buster w/ Desktop OS.

Thank you for the pointer. I installed the Jessie image from this website and with adding the following to the cmdline.txt file
logo.nologo quiet splash
It boots up very cleanly right into my app without any imagery or scrolling lines of boot info.. Nice - and - clean.
