Pinout of Pi Foundation display - 7" Touchscreen

Sat Apr 29, 2017 8:25 am

Hi,

I would like to know the pinout of the Pi Foundation display - 7" Touchscreen which has two ribbon cables coming out of it - one for display and the other for touch. However, there is pinout information available for the dsi connector on the adapter board that comes along with the display, which I am not interested in.

Links of the display:

https://www.adafruit.com/product/2718

Could you please provide me the pinouts of both the cables?

Cheers,
Amalan

You're out of luck. It's not documented anywhere that's publically available.

I am surprised that this information has been withheld. Atleast, there should be some description about whether it is a 24-bit RGB 40 pin standard interface or not...

The Circuit Board attached to the back of the Screen and the Screen itself are specifically designed for use with the Raspberry Pi, therefore knowing the actual pinouts would serve what purpose, reverse engineering ??

I am interested in using raspberry pi display with other SBCs and in trying out other displays too with raspberry pi.

It is not feasible to attach other displays to the Raspberry Pi via the DSi Port.
