I just recently got my pi and I have set it up with vnc to my laptop. I am able to connect to the internet via sharing my laptop's internet connection through the ethernet, but I'm not able to connect to wi-fi. I want my pi to be able to connect to the internet without a direct connection through my laptop. Under the GUI, the school wi-fi is grayed out with an ethernet symbol even if I don't share the internet's wifi connection with it. Is this because I am using vnc through the ethernet? I also don't get any internet connection when I try to connect to a different wifi source, it'll say it's connected but traceroute returns a !H.
I was also wondering could I use vnc to my pi without the ethernet cord via wi-fi? If so, how would I set that up?
