Mon Apr 24, 2017 11:01 am

I follow the tutorial about setting up network boot.
It's work well , but i want to know how to setup network boot for more than one client.

Thank

As described, the client searches files in a directory named by its serial number.
If you look at the traces on the server you can see which directory it seeks. Or get the 8 last characters of "Serial : 000000xxxx" in the output of /proc/cpuinfo.

bootcode.bin has to be under the root of the tftp directectory, everything else can be under dirs named after serial numbers.

Did you get anywhere with this?

We are also trying to boot multiple clients from one master. All are RPI3. At present we are using the bootloader.bin on the SD card method in order to avoid potential problems with the baked in bootloader. All the pis are connected to a Netgear GS116 16 port Gigabit switch hub.

One slave boots fine. Multiple slaves boot fine if their power on is staggered. If we power them all on together only one of the slaves boots! The rest don't even get past the bootloader. With a monitor connected it stays at no signal. I am wondering if this is somehow to do with the timing of the DHCP requests all being the same.. But I will try to find out more.

I don't know who you're asking, but for my part I decided to wait and see.
A recipe for reliable concurrent boot of multiple clients would be a great start.

For reference I also posted here where the OP more closely matches the reason for my post. It is now working for us with one caveat.
