Ultimate Machine

Tue Apr 11, 2017 10:06 am

Hi,

I am interested in making an ultimate machine with minimum budget. I bought a PI 3 model b few months ago and haven't built anything with it so far. Could anyone suggest a way to build this with minimum budget?

You don't need a smart computer to run an ultimate machine, they're electro-mechanical. If you want it to do strange things (other than having the arm emerge and trip the switch) then an Arduino would have more than enough computing power.

A microcontroller (e.g. Arduino) makes more sense for instant-on and low power.

You could do something more elaborate to use the more capable Pi3.

This could still be Arduino, but with networking, video (a 3.5 inch TFT) text to speech...?

Pi ZeroW is an option, especially if you can plug it in to mains power adaptor and leave it on and ready for action.
