Pi Zero W - USB OTG

Mon Apr 10, 2017 10:30 am

Hi All,

Hopefully a quick and easy one, I've just picked up a few Pi Zero W's and just fired one up to make sure everything works as expected, it boots to Pixel desktop without any issues but the USB keyboard I've connected via a ($3 eBay) USB OTG cable doesn't seem to be getting detected so I can't interact with it just yet.

Currently using the NOOBS image that comes preinstalled on the SDcards that were supplied with the Zeroes, so not sure if the issue might be related to the image I'm using or the quality of the OTG cable, or something else - any takers?

1. Have you connected it to the correct port on the zero?
2. Have you tried the cable/keyboard with another device (for example an android phone)?

I've never had any problem with a Pi Zero and OTG cables. I do tend to use an OTG USB hub for keyboard and mouse though.
