Drive 12V relay

Wed Apr 05, 2017 10:26 am

hi everyone..
i need a power supply to drive relay coil (12V DC).
i am planning for dual output power supply with 5V and 12V dc output so that i can power up both Pi-3 and Relay.
i need to power up 48 relays whose coil voltage is 12V DC.
What should be the current rating of the supply?
.

Re: 5V Pin not giving 5V

Instead of hijacking this thread, which is frowned upon, I suggest you start a new thread.
Also, provide more details, such as the current each relay will require (12v doesn't give us a clue)

Even better, when you've found that figure, multiply it by 48, and you will have answered your own question.

split off from hijacked thread, gave new topic.

And yes, you need to give the current the relay drives.
