I need help with this

Thu Mar 16, 2017 9:36 pm

So I am new with Raspberry Pi and I want to buy the Raspberry Pi 3 - Model B but I don't know the other requirements that I need. Is there a tutorial for those that want to run it on a laptop? What are the things I need if I want to run it on a laptop. My laptop is 64 bit Windows 7 machine with 4 GB RAM.

The Pi is a standalone computer, you don't run it on a laptop. You can connect to it remotely and use your laptop to control it if you want:

There are 10 types of people: those who understand binary and those who don't.

The minimal set of things you need are: a microSD card (should be at least 8GB), a power supply (for a Pi3B a 5.1v, 2.5A supply is recommended). If you don't have a wireless LAN, add a CAT-5 (or better) cable. If you don't want to run "headless", you'll need a USB keyboard, a USB mouse, and a monitor or TV that will take either DVI-D or HDMI input, plus the appropriate cable.

You can run a Raspberry Pi SBC Headless, the de-facto Raspbian Jessie with Pixel Desktop Operating System includes RealVNC Server, whilst RealVNC offer a Windows Client.
