Requirements of a TFT LCD Touchscreen Display & Raspberry Pi

Tue Mar 07, 2017 11:28 pm

Can someone please inform me what requirements are needed for a raspberry pie to work with touch enabled functions on a touch screen LCD display? I have a Kenwood car stereo with a 6.1 inch TFT LCD touchscreen display honoring what would happen if I were to connect my high to this display with the touchscreen features still work and enable me to use raspy him or any other type of software that can be run on the raspberry pie similar to a touchscreen you buy that is bare-bones and connected to a raspberry pi. The monitor on my Kenwood car stereo is composite input only however does this make a difference I know that I can tap into the Gpio pins and get the display to work With a composite display but as I have seen it done it is a simple connection however I would like to know if Its possible to retain touch features As well or what would need to be done to make this a possibility. The Kenwood car stereo model is a DDX371.

Is your touch using a USB interface? If yes, you only need a driver for to - which most likely is non-existing, if no - not possible at all to connect to a Pi.

Composite screen is a different story; you can connect your Pi to it, but be prepared for low image resolution.
