Hi, call me six-by, I'm kinda new here.

I lost my project in a fire that spread to my workshop. A long time ago, I bought a rolling project that escalated a bit (a lot) and due to tight funds and needing to learn new skills, it was slow going. And then there was the fire. When I bought the project, parts were relatively cheap and plentiful and donor vehicles were a cinch to get, roll forward a few years and that's just not the case now.
Realistically I'll never be able to afford restart the project, even though I now have the skill set to start pretty much from scratch.

So, after a great deal of soul searching, I decided to start from scratch, but in LEGO (at least mostly LEGO).
If I shop carefully for pieces, it is affordable.


So, here's the thing, I want something more than an inert pile of neatly arraigned construction toy bits, I want something closer to the original project, something I can be proud of.

I want lights - all of them, all working correctly, including extra spotlights/fogs, interior lights, engine bay, rear license plate, and door edge/puddle lights.
I want TV's in the headrests for the ear passengers.
I want speakers - I'm planning on re-purposed used laptop speakers.
I want the whole lot controlled by bluetooth.
Maybe drive/steering motors.
Possibly even electric seat motors too.

Yes, it's going to be big, the chassis is 29.5 inches long.

Welcome to the forums. You don't actually say what your project IS, though it appears to be a custom built model automobile. Where do you see Pis fitting into your plans?

OK, it's a 6 wheel pickup (3 axles, not a dualie), king cab with 4 doors and 2 rows of seats.

The new chassis built in lego is 29.5 inches long. The old one was well over 18 feet in length - and weighed noticeably more.

Where do the Pi's fit in? I hope converting Bluetooth signals to operating the lights, maybe motors and playing a movie on 2 tiny monitors. I could install a small capacity SSD to hold the movie(s), if that helped.

Is this a realistic project, or pi in the sky? I am a total Raspberry Pi noob.

A Pi3 should be more than capable of that. A larger SD card or USB flash drive would be fine for storing everything (no need for an SSD).

There are various small LCD touchscreen displays available for the Raspberry Pi computers. If the videos are going to be continuously looping, then a couple of Pi-Zeros with attached screens might be another option for your displays.

Arson in a nearby property which spread. I wasn't the only one who it spread to, it took out 8 or 9 properties and damaged a couple of others.
