Sun Feb 26, 2017 1:36 am

Hi,
This is my 1st raspberry pi so please don't be to harsh. I have a raspberry pi 3 b, I have it connected to a 5 inch. Touch screen I bought off this website called wish. I also bought a pre installed noobs card. Now the first time I started the pi up it did ask me to choose any kind of os or settings or any thing for that matter just started into this desktop setting with just the trash bin on the desktop I believe it is Jesse but thats all I know but my issue is I turned it off 1 night and when I turned it on back on it went to this kinda like terminal setting I know longer have a graphical interface how can I get back to a graphical interface I have tried sudo raspi-config and then changed the setting to graphical but that did nothing I also want to change the os to kali Linux any help is much appreciated I have been trying to figure this out for 3 days

My advice is to start afresh, as you have no idea the age of the NoobS installer / chooser which was on the SD Card:

For the Kali penetration testing OS, see the documentation on their own website: http://docs.kali.org/kali-on-arm/kali-l ... pberry-pi2

Note that they say -
Kali is a Linux distribution specifically geared towards professional penetration testers and security specialists, and given its unique nature, it is NOT a recommended distribution if you’re unfamiliar with Linux

NoobS does not require an .IMG Burner, you are reading the wrong Tuturials ??

Raspberry Pi's quick start tutorial recommends using SD Formatter 4.0 to reformat your SD card ready for the new NOOBS install.

You can format an micro/SD/HC?XC card to the SD standard format by placing the card in a camera and hitting format. SDXC cards will be formatted as ExFAT instead of FAT because using the proprietary patent restricted ExFAT is the standard for SDXC.
