VNC

Sat Feb 25, 2017 4:57 pm

I set up my VNC a long time ago and it was working perfectly, but yesterday i ran apt-get upgrade and since then it's not working anymore. So i reinstalled it, and now i CAN connect to the remote pi with VNC but I don't have an actual desktop with a taskbar and icons, just a blank background. I can right click to get a few options but that's about it. I tried with RealVNC as well, same issue. Any suggestions? See attached screenshot for what i mean. Any help appreciated :D

I don't know too much about it but I have the new VNC Connect running with 3 Pi's, all Headless (i.e. no mouse keyboard or monitor).
Today, I have set it up so that I can operate them over the Cloud, rather than just my Home Wi-Fi that I was using previously.
All the Pi's create their own virtual Desktop, which maybe the step you are missing.

To upgrade to the latest version, I entered Terminal Mode on each Pi and entered:
sudo apt-get update

Followed by:
sudo apt-get install realvnc-vnc-server realvnc-vnc-viewer

Other than that, I have not done anything to get my previous Desktop Screen and icons back.

I got the update yesterday after running apt-get update and it said it was unlicensed until I rebooted the py.
