Runs out of RAM, has to pull plug
It happens that I run out of RAM (Random Access Memory) when I use the web browser Chromium on e.g. Twitter. I have a RAM-indicator ("Resource monitor") and 1 GB RAM - 64 MB for GPU. First the Raspberry Pi becomes slow and then it freezes completely. I usually can't shut down the tab or the browser, because the GUI is very sluggish before it freezes completely. Then I have to pull the plug, and reboot. Is there a way to avoid this problem by e.g. reserving some RAM for the GUI so that you still can shut down programs to free RAM?

Find the program that's getting RAM but not freeing it, that's your storage leak.
You've got the monitoring to see when the problem starts. You then need to run something like top or htop (when RAM gets to about 70% used) so you can see which task grows.
Web browsers tend to be memory hogs because they're built for 8GB or 16GB laptops where holding everything in RAM is not a big deal.

Don't open so many tabs in Chrome - they are a huge resource hog, although I hear the latest version does use a bit less memory.
