Hi,
I have just purchased an RKPTmdc on ebay, got it built, great little board. I want to increase the total of GPIO pins using the on board breakout header, what IC could I use? Thanks in advance.

Take a look at the 74HC138 and the 74HC245 if you want to extend the interfacing capabilities of the gpio pins by multiplexing. The HC and AC families of logic IC's can be supplied from 3V3 or 5V
