Raspberry Pi voice recognition and SMS

Sat Sep 08, 2012 2:48 am

Hey all, I was woundering if it would be possable to make a raspberry pi use voice recognition to ask it to lets say check your email, or my main thing i want it to be able to do is read out texts*sms* if i asked it to,
By reading out text i mean like reading incoming text messages off your phone?

Would you think this is possible?

Text to speech (reading out email) is much easier than speech recognition.

Text to speech with festival:

Speech recognition with Julius / pocket sphinx

Also possible with google api if your pi will have internet access at all times.
Android app - Raspi Card Imager - download and image SD cards - No PC required !
