Pi 2 B V1.2 not booting past Coloured Splash Screen

Wed Nov 23, 2016 5:24 pm

Hi, one of my Pi's is a Pi2 B v1.1 which has no issues at all. Just bought another from CPC which is a Pi2 B v1.2 & it sticks at the coloured splash screen. Green led flashes a few times every couple of seconds or so.

Tried new SD (i am using 16GB)
Tried update/upgrade
Tried several different working cards including burning my test image to a new SD - all work in the v1.1 Pi
Tried three different power supplies
Tried adding "boot_delay=1"

Put SD back to v1.1 Pi & boots fine, "uname -a" shows "4.1.13-v7+ #826" (Nov 13th 2015)

Always the same. Sent back & got a replacement Pi, exactly the same issue.

What am i missing here? Could it be two faulty Pi's. First one bought 1st Nov 2016, replacement arrived today.

Thanks Paul

Thank you, managed to miss that very complete post.

Ran "apt-get dist-upgrade" which solved my issue.

Now running the 4.4 Kernel which the v1.2 appears to need.

Thanks again, Paul
