Hi all,
I have been fighting with an issue for some time now, and neither the almighty google nor the forums have been able to save the day. I don't see any other option now that humbly come here and ask my question.
The set up is rather simple and i'm probably just dumb, but here we go:
Pi 3, connected by ethernet to my modem/router, running OSMC
USB stick and hard drive connected to the Pi3
Laptop, running Win8.1, on wifi.
Samba installed and fully functional.
What works:
shared folder through samba, copy paste of file (any size) is flawless (movie playing is sometimes stopping or lagging, but probably network issue over wifi).
Copying file to OSMC via windows explorer (access through pi IP) into any folder of OSMC
Copying file from Pi to USB stick
Copying file from USB to Pi
And here is the deal :
I can't copy my files from laptop above 300ishMo, to the USB drives connected to the pi from my Laptop Win8.1
Anytime i try to move a file from my laptop straight to the usb drive, i encounter a 0x8007003B error "unexpected network error".
I googled the error, fand a lot of people having issues not fully similar, but close enough (in my case, it only occur when the final directory is a mounted drive, not the pi).
I have tried the proposed worked around (firewall off, antivirus off, samba protocol v2 disabled on Win8.1) tried disabling autotuning, but it's still a no.
So far i don't know if i'm facing a router, win8.1 or Pi config issu.
If anyone can shed light on thi it would be greatly appreciated.
TL,DR: large files can't be transferred over network from windows laptop to usb drive plugged into my Pi3 using samba
