Kali linux: windows persisting after shut down

Wed Nov 02, 2016 12:06 am

Hi,
I'm running Kali ARM on a Pi 3 B.
I have a minor issue that I'd like to solve.

After a reboot, or even after doing a hard reset (unplug, plug back in), the windows that I had open before the shutdown still persist, being open after I log into the account. I'm using root.
The terminal history remains, as well as any specific directories that were open in the file explorer.

I'd like to prevent this from happening, even if the workaround means I have to set up a script to run when I shut down. Thank you.

EDIT-
In settings, under session and startup, there is a tab called Application Autostart.
The following applications are checked under this category:
AT-SPI D-Bus Bus
Network
PolicyKit Auth Agent
Power Manager
PulseAudio Sound System
Screensaver
Xfsettingsd

There is also a tab in Session and Startup settings called General.
Under this tab is a category called Logout Settings. The option "Automatically save session on logout" is unchecked.
There is also a category called Session Chooser and an option called "Display chooser on login" which is unchecked.

Kali Linux has a support forum, it may be worthwhile posting there: https://forums.kali.org

Sorry, all my threads get zero replies in the ARM section ha. I thought maybe this forum was a bit more active... at least when related to ARM...
