ssl problem with python / twilio

Mon Oct 17, 2016 7:55 pm

Hello. I'm trying to make my Pi send SMS notifications as part of a project I'm working on. I've been working through the chapter on email and SMS from Automate the Boring Stuff with Python. I've set up and verified a Twilio account, but when I try to run the following code

Code: Select all

from twilio.rest import TwilioRestClient
# put your own credentials here
ACCOUNT_SID = '<my_SID>'
AUTH_TOKEN = '<my_token>'

client = TwilioRestClient(ACCOUNT_SID, AUTH_TOKEN)

client.messages.create(
    to = '<my_phone_number>',
    from_ = '<my_twilio_number>',
    body = 'Test successful!',
)
(obviously with my info in the relevant places) I get the following error http://pastebin.com/GYfY7EFs . I am using Python 3.2 on a Raspberry Pi running Raspbian Wheezy. I can run the code successfully on my desktop, so I assume it's something to do with the setup of the Pi or Python. I've tried googling the problem to no avail. I'd be very grateful if someone could help me out with this.
