Pi 3 Model B Power Bank

Mon Oct 10, 2016 7:28 pm

First off, this is my first post, so take it easy on me, if possible. I hope this is in the right sub-forum. Thanks in advance to the mod that has to proofread this.

Anywho, I'm creating a Raspberry Pi-powered tablet running Kali Linux. I bought a Mogix 2.1/2.5A 5V mobile power bank with around 10500 mAh, if my memory serves me correctly. However, the problem is this: whilst powering the Pi with the bank, it can be connected to Mains power and still power the Pi. Unfortunately, when dosconnected from mains power, it kills power to the Pi for an instant. This hard shuts down the Pi, which is pretty unhealthy for the system. Are there power banks that any of you have experiance with that don't do this?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

i tried xiaomi 5200 powerbank (output power: DC 5.1V/1.5A) and it was able to power my pi3 while the powerbank was either plugged or unplugged from a powersource. When the powerbank was unplugged from the powersource, a lightning icon was displayed on the raspbian screen but it did not turn off the pi3. i am planning on getting an Asus ZenPower Pro 10050mAh Powerbank as this one has an Output Power: DC 5.1V/2.4A.

When the Lightning Bolt icon is displayed, it means that the Pi isn't receiving any power. Tell me how the new power bank preforms, though. Hopefully you can plug and unplug from mains power without killing power to the Pi.
