Pi3 USB port and Power HDD M3

Mon Sep 19, 2016 3:57 pm

Hello, do you think that you can connect a HDD Seagate 4TB M3 (powered - it has only a USB port) with a USB port RPi3 (use only the power RPi3)

Thank you for the support

best regards

Try it and see but probably yes, especially if you have no other current guzzling peripherals. Make you insert or enable the 'max_usb_current=1' line in /boot/config.txt

Which is not required on the Pi3, as it is hard wired as always on.
