Scanner
I have tried Skanlite and simple-scanner with Raspian but neither works. I was able to get both to work with Debian and with Ubuntu. Does anyone have any suggestions or can the suggest a document scanner package that will work with Raspian?

It's not clear what you mean by neither works. Does the software not run, does it run but fail?
Any error messages? Does the command dmesg give any hints?
How are you connecting the scanner? If via USB it may be a USB problem.

Could be the old (Hehe! Old) USB power problem and it may work if you intervene with a powered USB Hub.
