server status code not working

i was just following all the directions on the tutorial for making my own web server. i copied the first bit of python program (all the stuff has been install) into the app.py, it gives me a variable not defined, i am confused as the tutorial said that if everything was put in right (and to my knowledge it is) that it would spit out a couple lines of code letting me know of the server status, instead it gave me the variable is not defined error and it frustrates me. how do i fix this.
