Drive laser projector by ILDA (LaserBoy) with DMX control

Wed Aug 03, 2016 4:23 pm

Hi everyone!
I'm glad to annunce a new project, that allows laser fans to drive with bunch of $ a professional laser remotely using ILD files, avoiding spend 200-600$ DACs and software on market.

It's based on something already existing, Laserboy as main software running on Raspberry, cheap DAC with 48kpps (enough for even professional projectors) based on USB audio card+drive corrector, and Arduino with tasks to check the DMX channel for command sent from Light consolle.

The ILD files are obtained from tons of free to download lasershows sequences available on FTPs, stored on a USB Flash and uploaded by Raspberry LAN interface remotely. ILD files may be adjusted before offline and visualized on PC, then transferred.
DMX interface consists on 6 channels (each of 1 byte), two for selecting the ILD file to run (from 0 to 65535 possible different programs), two for offset the X and Y for center the effect, one for master light intensity, one for slow or accelerate the effect running in loop (until it's changed).

This can cover the main requests for driving a laser, and it's really cheap solution. Who is involved on this and can contribute for development?
Thank you
