Cannot boot

Tue Aug 02, 2016 12:39 am

I have RaPi2 and 3 models. Installed the same (latest image) of RASBIAN on RasPi2 and it works fine. It does not work on RasPi3. I use the same monitor, keyboard, mouse etc. so I'm just switching between the two models. I know this worked in the past. At some pint my SD card got screwed up (messed up the system completely) so I had to reinstall. Unfortunately I had no same IMG file available so had to download what was available and since then my RasPi3 is not working.

When I boot it up 1st time it resizes the card space, reboots again and after that no more display. Once the command line with messages disappears it never boots to GUI. I guess there is an option to boot to command prompt etc. but why should I bother with this ? Installing brand new system on RasPi from IMG file should work without problems. There are no extra devices, cards, nothing just plain board with mouse, keyboard, PS and HDMI.

I'm thinking about trying older image but cannot find it....

ANY CLUES WHY THIS IS NOT WORKING ANYMORE ?

Which Raspbian image did you download, regular or lite?

See: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=58151

My first suspect would be the Power Supply being used for the RPi3.
