'converting' rtsp video stream to HDMI

Thu Jul 21, 2016 2:47 pm

Hello all,

I want to use a PI to solve this problem: I have several WiFi cameras that I would like to record to my existing security cam DVR. The DVR only has analog inputs for video, and I thought I could use the PI to read the RTSP stream from the camera and pipe it to its HDMI (or RCA) video so I can do an easy cable conversion and plug it into the DVR (RCA jacks).

Has anyone had any success doing this? Is there a commercial (cheap) hardware solution? Apologies if this has been asked - I have not been able to find any references to this specific task.

Code: Select all

omxplayer --live rtsp://IPADDRESS/
omxplayer runs in fullscreen and even is hardware-accelerated.

• Don't like the board ? Missing features ? Change to the prosilver theme ! You can find it in your settings.
• Don't like to search the forum BEFORE posting 'cos it's useless ? Try googling : yoursearchtermshere site:raspberrypi.org
