Reading NES controller inputs

Thu Jul 21, 2016 12:42 am

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to know if it was possible to directly read button inputs from a classic NES controller (with the original input, as shown here http://psmay.com/2011/10/18/the-game-co ... nstructed/). I had seen some projects online with joysticks that required a Analog to Digital converter as the Pi didn't have a proprietary analog input, however it would be much easier to cut the cable and read the signals directly (I know, good things don't come easy). I haven't seen a project exactly like this and not 100% sure where to start.

Thank you for the help!
