SSH password problem

Fri Jul 01, 2016 3:33 pm

Hi
I have a model B set up as a NAS drive for music etc. Up to now I have been accessing it via SSH from my MacBook Pro (Terminal) and from a Windows 10 PC (Putty) without any problems.
Something on the Mac has changed (I presume it is something I have done) which is preventing me accessing the Pi while I can still access from the Windows PC.
When I connect to the Pi and enter the password I get the error "Permission denied, please try again."
At the third failure I get the error "Permission denied (publickey, password)."
The only thing that I have noticed which is different is that the password prompt seems to be an icon for a key.
Any input or suggestions would be appreciated as I have gone as far as my experience allows.
Thanks
Noel

Many such problems turn out to be an attempt to connect to a device other than the RPi that was intended.

Could something have changed its address assignment that the Mac has not caught up with?

Problem solved.
It as my own fault, for some reason I was including an extra capital letter in the password when logging in from the Mac.
Thanks for responding.
