5 volts @ 2.5 amperes for the RPi3B. The earlier models have a lower power consumption.

I think It is coming to the point when Raspberry Pi designers will have to include
A power supply , If they keep up grading Pi 's with higher current handling

I thought the Pi was designed for learning programming and electronics
And not for one off projects

Ps There is money to be made , when you keep up grading
The older users can afford them , but youngsters can't

Or people start to read the tin before they jump in a buy something. Analogy time, it shouldn't get to be like the situation where gas (petrol) stations have bigger nozzles for diesel than for unleaded/regular because too many people were filling their unleaded tanks with diesel and killing their cars. (While producing amazing amounts of exhaust.)

When you try and use a Pi for anything, you're going to be doing a ton of research and reading (even if a shocking number of people come here just to post, "I want to build a Space Station with my Zero, do my work for me!"), so get started early and read the specs before you buy.

Simple solution, just buy the Pi3 power supply. You can run everything from the Zero up on the Pi3 supply. And it will probably be good for the foreseeable future.
My mind is like a browser. 27 tabs are open, 9 aren't responding,
lots of pop-ups...and where is that annoying music coming from?
