Found this how to with google DIY Cheap MicroSD to RS-MMC converter in 15 minutes.. I haven't tried it, but should work also with the Raspberry Pi. He uses a micro sd->mini sd->sd card adapter to create a low profile micro sd adapter.
Maybe someone will give it a try.
