Solar Powered Raspberry Pi Camera

Sun Jun 19, 2016 3:53 am

How can a portable solar panel be connected to the Raspberry Pi 2 to use the Camera module? Do you use Python script or something more simpler? The camera will record on a daily schedule at one day per week during the night.

Will a 5 watt SunnyBag PowerTAB be enough?

Have you looked at this thread? It may give you some ideas.

But to answer your question we need a bit more information. Are you taking stills or video, if so how many or how long? How long will the pi be on? Will it just be on once per night or several times? Is the pi 2 your only option or could you get a pi zero?

Connecting the solar panel to power it in itself won't need any programming it's just a power source.
