This has been bugging me for a while. There's nothing that's actually
changed in the Pi's normal operation (apart from that lxpanel transparency seems to glitch to gray more often upon bootup, could be coincidence), but I just want to know what this is because I'm curious, and for once, the magic Google couldn't help me.
Anyways...
Ever since I did this stuff:
- Installed hplip (HP printer drivers for Linux) via apt-get after I couldn't get the installation script to run
- Accidentally pasted the hplip installation script into the terminal making it run line by line

- Attempted to connect to a printer (as an experiment, I didn't need to)
- Gave up
- apt-get purge'd hplip,
whenever I boot, the Pi always shows this line during booting::
[FAILED]: Failed to load kernel modules
Here's a dump of everything I did in the terminal related to this (including the script accidentally pasted in):

The Pi also shows a line about CUPS (
Starting Make remote CUPS printers available locally) that it didn't show before late in the bootup process, but I'm assuming that's just residue left over from attempting to configure the printer.
Anyone know what all this is and if my Raspbian installation might collapse into smouldering ashes at any moment? (I have backups. Let the fireworks begin.)
I do moral support. Here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/search.php?search_id=egosearch
I know I use too many parentheses. Problem?
