touch sensor

Wed Jun 08, 2016 10:45 am

hello piemakers!

im super brand new to the pi but i would love love to get more into it and make this project:

i want to have a touch sensor that when touched activates or somehow control the playback of a video beamed 4 meters away from it.

im not interested in just making a button i would like to have the sensor linked with an object

i saw adafruit have this board and alligator stuff that makes fruit control music - something like that but with much longer distance and not sound but video?

i hope this makes sense haha im really not a programmer and i really hope you can help (-:

Are you referring to a MakeyMakey interface? http://www.makeymakey.com/

There is a project here that creates a similar interface using an RPi: https://github.com/picymru/pifun

thanks a lot! this looks promising!

if I understood right the makeymakey is tricking the computer into thinking everything is a keyboard and then activating pianokeys -

could I then instead program the signal to tricker something else in the raspberry lets say a key "f" that i designed to activate playback of my video?

thanks for the quick reply!
