Use virtual box in RPI (server headless)

Fri Jun 03, 2016 10:09 pm

Hello everyone,

I was a very far way to my RPI :( But I am here now! :) Ok, lets go to what matters. I need install virtual box on RPI to use them which server headless. How can I do this? I tried install normal virtual box, as I do on the normal pc, but had a few error (unfortunately I can't take a screen shot)

If you mean Oracle Virtual Box, then you can't as there is no ARM version of it.

I don't understand what you need to do? Can you elaborate ?
There are 10 types of people: those who understand binary and those who don't.

Thanks your reply. So, how can I use raspberry pi as machine to serve many virtual machines?

Thanks

You can't as it doesn't have the resources needed for what you want.

KVM might be worth a look. Beware, however, that you can't just install any OS using it, it can only give you multiple virtualized Linux instances. You're also going to be limited somewhat by the amount of RAM available, it's doubtful you'll be able to get many instances off a Pi - that'll depend, of course, on what you want each instance to be running.
