RPi 3 revision code

Mon May 30, 2016 11:40 am

Hi all,

I'am trying to maintain a database of RPi revision codes: https://github.com/Fourdee/DietPi/blob/ ... _boardinfo and http://elinux.org/RPi_HardwareHistory#B ... on_History

What causes the RPi3 revision code to add a 2 at the start? Overclocking/overvolting? http://dietpi.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=447#p1972

Previous devices would add 1000.

Layout of the revision code changed with the Pi2 and later.
Seems to be bit 25 (warranty voided) that causes it.
As with the old layout: once it's set it stays that way.
See e.g. https://github.com/AndrewFromMelbourne/ ... model-zero for explanation
