Power down mode for Raspberry Pi 3

Wed May 18, 2016 4:45 am

Hi,
Does RPi - 3 board support any power down/sleep/low power modes. If yes, what will be the power/current consumption during such modes. Any wake up events can be configured in the software/ hardware level?

Thanks.

Unless it's undocumented, or I simply missed it, then no. The best way I've found so far is to use an external microprocessor (grab a £2 Chinese Arduino Nano clone) to turn the Pi's power on and off, and rig up a pin or two for sending status back and forth ("I've finished booting" "I'm shutting down now")

There are none that are supported by the hardware.

Buy a WittyPi.

That's a ready built alternative to Mr T's $2 arduino.
