Can't open config.txt with nano error reading.

Wed May 04, 2016 6:49 pm

I just tried Overclocking my pi. it got too far so i edit the config.txt on my laptop's card reader

after getting it to 1300 it worked! but I can't open the config.txt anymore it gives me this
Error reading lock file /boot/.config.txt.swap: Not enough data read
the weird thing is that the oc first made it fast (1340) then i lowered it just to be safe. then it was much slower, I returned it to stock now. it's still slower. I restarted and ran again and now it's fast again. it's like my sysbench is giving me random results!
I tried overvoltage=6 and it didn't get hot. i had to remove the plug because it froze :|

but anyway. How can i fix this problem for now?

EDIT: ok my disk bench is now down to 14mb/s from 23.3mb/s wth have i done? What have i done :(( have i damaged my pi/sdcard ???

Don't overclock your Pi.
Why are you overclocking? Do you have heatsink and/or fan?

Rather than asking here, since how would anyone here know? Rather than that, get another sdcard, properly prepare it at stock settings and see if it runs right.

OK. I don't have any other SD cards so I'll just reinstall ubuntu mate again. Maybe just accessing config.txt on the laptop messed its permissions or something

Re-image your card, leave settings at stock, see how that goes. :)

Using the laptop try deleting the .config.txt.swap file. Then edit config.txt back to working values.

Well I already re installed it. It works now but the speed is still 15.5mb/S from 23.3 it used to be. It was lagging too I assume all raspberry pies lag! Why is my SD card still slower? Is it possible to damage SD card/Raspberry pi with the OC I did? My OSMC lagged a bit too (on another 8gb SP elite SD card) my Ubuntu mate is on 16gb sandisk ultra
