Mega Sync (Megasync) install problems

Wed May 04, 2016 6:03 pm

Hi, I am trying to instal Megasync (Mega Sync?) from mega.nz and I either get a "wrong architecture 'i386'" error or an "unspecified transaction" error depending on how I try to install it. I'm guessing that the RPi isn't an i386 and that Mega needs to supply us with an ARM version? I'm not super up on this stuff so, I'm just making an educated guess.

You're right: The Pi uses an ARM, not i386 or similar
License: Free Freeware
Publisher: Mega
OS: Windows 10 / 8 / 7 / Vista / XP
Windows is for x86 processors only, and won't run on an ARM
Also, that software requires Windows, so won't run on any other OS - Linux, MAC, etc - even with an x86

Well, that's not true--there is a version of Mega Sync that runs on Mac, and certain types of Linux (Ubuntu, Debian and others), but it looks like the processor architecture is the problem. Thanks for the reply! I'll start looking for another cloud solution.
