bluetooth on pi3

Sun May 01, 2016 1:56 am

Hey buddies! I've looked all over the web and followed a bunch of tutorials, but nothing has worked so far.
I have my new pi3 set up as a dual boot, one for OSMC and one for Raspbian, to use RetroPie.
So far I've managed to get most things working, but I can't get bluetooth working on any of those consoles. I've tried three different speakers and two gamepads which I've tested on other devices so I know they work.
I briefly got the speaker to work on Raspbian, but only for a few minutes. On OSMC, it will detect the speaker and pair, but loses the connection in a second or two.
I'm still feeling my way around and wouldn't mind doing a clean install of everything just to start from scratch, because I think trying all of random solutions I've found online has made it even worse...
I'm wondering if there may just be a hardware issue with the builtin bluetooth adapter itself, although when it seems to be functioning properly.
I guess I'm just looking for a good, up to date walkthrough of what exactly i need to type into the terminal to get everything up to date and working nicely. Any advice or links would be super appreciated!
