Rasbian Settings window partialy outside screen

Wed Apr 13, 2016 1:23 pm

Hi guys,

I just found out that not everything from Rasbian is being "scaled back" in order to fit inside the screens resolution.
I was looking for a possibility to change the screensaver time of Raspbian under setting.
But as the settings window was opened I could not get all the way down to the bottom of the setting window.
On larger screens it's okay, but on this screen the bottom half is missing.

Is this a bug and should the foundation ad a slider or is this the way and there is nothing I can do about it? :geek:

Unfortunately this is not a new problem and will pop up if you run a desktop with low resolution. Its the LXDE or OpenBox developers that has done a sub-par job. While the programmers can take some precautions about display resolutions you will have to say stop at some minimum resolution.

There are always other ways of setting a parameter, you can usually set the from the commandline in some way or edit a file. The difficult is to figure out which command, which file/parameter. If you know exactly the name of the program/control-panel you where using it will help you/us find an alternative way.

If you start a xvncserver with a bigger resolution you can access the desktop remotely and use the program properly there.
