GPIO voltage pins now 4.1 and 5.7V

Tue Apr 12, 2016 10:38 am

I am new to Pi and have been experimenting with sensors using the GPIO pins. Some of the sensors used 3.3V and they were connected to PIN 1 and Ground.
I have just checked a new circuit configuration and the 3.3V is now 4.1V! Similarly PIN 2 which should be 5.0V is now 5.7V!
I had previously checked both pins before connecting anything so I know they were 3.3V and 5V originally.
Everything still appears to work correctly. Signal outputs were connected to PINS 16 and 22 using the Pis internal pull up resistors.
What is likely to have happened? Is it recoverable/repairable? Should I take any action before continuing to use the Pi?

Put a fresh battery in your meter and check again or try another meter.

Have you changed the power supply?
