no DNS Entries from DHCP

My resolv.conf file shows

domain localdomain.local
nameserver 127.0.0.1

If I change resolv.conf manually, it gets reset on boot.
And, I tried an image from YoDeck for their digital signage with the same issue - no DNS.

I have tried a Windows DHCP network and a router based DHCP network. Work fine for Androids, iOS, Windows, Macs.

I am fairly new to the Pi world and wouldn't expect it to be this difficult to get them online.

What am I doing wrong?
