Raspberry pi 3 TROUBLESHOOTING

Sun Apr 10, 2016 3:56 pm

I just got the Raspberry pi 3 a couple of days ago it was functioning just fine but just recently my tv is showing green pixels on hdmi. Can it be hardware or the software. Anyone else experience this problem?

When i was overclocking my pi3 I saw something like that (overclocking gpu-freq)

What OS are you using, and have you modified the config for the core/GPU?

increase your PI's HDMI drive strength (using config.txt, setting "config_hdmi_boost=n" with n between 0 and 7 ) or use a different (better with less loss) HDMI cable.

Hi!

I'm having some issues on HDMI too.
With the PI3 sometimes the screen turns black and the sound is breaking in every 5 seconds.

The raspberry pi 2 and 1 was not able to work with my screen at all. Except if I set the CONFIG_HDMI_BOOST to 11 which is a pretty high value. At 10 I killed the raspberry pi 1's hdmi output.

I would like to know what is this setting changing, voltage or current?
I read everywhere that it should be between 0 and 7. If I use a higher value should I use some extra cooling on the SOC itself.
At this moment I got a simple heat sink on it.

The screen is an old samsung LCD tv (full HD), it's hdmi input is working perfectly with a computer or laptop.
