NAS setup using Webmin

Wed Apr 06, 2016 9:43 am

Hi Guys.....

Hoping some one would do a Tutorial (set of instructions) to setup a NAS using Webmin.

I have been trying for 14 days straight...reloaded the OS 7 or 8 times and I always get stuck on the black screen instructions...everyone has different ones.

I have a stable Pi3 and managed to load Webin and then Samba.

So PLEASE can some nice person write/record or something to tell new non-computer people how to use Webmine to make a NAS.... I have read so many things and all confused me and I ended up being locked out of the Pi...

But NO ONE has a tutorial on NAS setup using Webin....

Please some nice person....I want to love the Pi...but the complexity and the confusing instructions and the high level of assumed knowledge is not making the love flow....

HELP PLEASE

Obviously there are very few people using webmin.
Minimal Kiosk Browser (kweb)
Slim, fast webkit browser with support for audio+video+playlists+youtube+pdf+download
Optional fullscreen kiosk mode and command interface for embedded applications
Includes omxplayerGUI, an X front end for omxplayer

I seem to remember it was pretty much dropped as a recommended Debian tool because it didn't work very well. That was some years ago.

Nice idea, but too difficult to implement and keep updated.

Sir
Thank you for the insight. So that is why there is so little about it....

Any links to an idiot proof way of implementing a NAS on a Pi3....I have been trying for weeks without any success...so many instructions assume too much prior knowledge - that I have none...

Thank you
