looking to sync pi to android phone - best way?

I'm looking for a solution to enable podcasts and files downloaded to pi are sync'd to my phone when I return home and enable my pictures to be backed up to the pi.

possibles:
1 - upload the files to dropbox, then sync dropbox on phone - look at using rclone http://rclone.org/
2 - run owncloud and save files to local storage, then sync with app
3 - run bittorrent sync and sync with app
4 - some kind of webserver

Anything else obvious i'm missing?

With rclone it looks like you already have half of the solution. To sync from OneDrive to your phone use something like Autosync OneDrive app.

Thanks mi7chy, I've been working on this and have been using solid explorer for android to set-up an ftp server to transfer the files via filezilla on ubuntu. Its super quick transfer speeds but not automated yet and I can't get trigger to auto set-up at a set time/every time it connects to my home network. Anyhow still looking!
