CM Stuck - no login prompt

Thu Mar 24, 2016 5:12 am

I was working on getting a USB Flash drive to automount, and I edited fstab, and then rebooted.
I don't know if that was the cause, but now I can't log in.
SSH via WiFi says "Connection refused."

On the serial console, I can see the CM booting, but when it gets to the line:

IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): wlan0: link becomes ready

It just hangs - I get no login prompt. The CM isn't dead - I can connect and disconnect USB devices and see messages reported in the console, but I never get the chance to login.

Since the only way to get out of this is to yank the power, I'm concerned that the Flash has become corrupted.

I am running Minibian, if that is important.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Boot it up via USB in the same way you did to install the software in the first place. Use a Linux system for this (even a Pi will do). Then you will be able to fsck and mount the filesystems on the Linux box and check for corruption/fix the problem.

Return to “Compute Module”
