power supply

Thu Mar 17, 2016 1:20 pm

I have several 2.0A power supplies that I'm wondering if I can use for my newly arrived RPi 3. Are they OK, or would you recommend playing it safe and getting a new 2.5A unit instead? I'm a chemical engineer, not an electrical engineer, unfortunately.....

mostly they will be fine - unless you have a load of power hungry adapters hanging off the usb PORTS

I've had a Pi3B running from a 2A supply for over a week and it's doing just fine. Just be careful about hooking up power hungry USB devices.
